Special purpose remote arms    
  Haydndesign was awarded the project to take from concept the method of emptying a silo of nuclear waste material.

This required determining the best way forward to implement a mechanical manipulator arm.

  • So by developing from the key parameters, stroke, speed, load rating we had determined the working requirements during the anticipated cycle.

This was a completely bespoke solution to a hazardous environment using traditional mechanical principles due to the need for extreme reliability and rugged construction whilst allowing for jettison and maintenance.
